FAQ
How to use solid household soap?
Our solid household soap is a multi-purpose concentrate in solid form. Here are several ways to use it:
- Pre-spotting: rub the damp soap directly onto the stain, leave for 5 to 10 minutes, then wash
- Hand dishwashing: rub a damp sponge on the soap bar, wash, rinse
- Surfaces and countertops: grate or melt in hot water to obtain a dish soap / cleaner
- Laundry booster: grate a few flakes into the drum to boost cleaning action
- Sinks and bathrooms: rub a sponge on the bar and clean surfaces
Express homemade liquid laundry detergent recipe: melt 50g of grated soap in 1L of hot water, let cool. Use 150ml per wash.
What is the shelf life of bar soap?
A well-preserved bar of household soap lasts a long time – several months to a year depending on use. To maximize its lifespan:
- Place it on a soap dish that allows water to drain (do not let it sit in water)
- Store it away from humidity between uses
- If multiple uses in parallel, cut the bar into pieces and only take out one at a time
A dry soap lasts 2 to 3 times longer than a soap that sits in water. This is the simplest anti-waste measure.
Is household soap compatible with dishes and food surfaces?
Yes. The formula, based on saponified vegetable oils, is perfectly suited for dishes and surfaces that come into contact with food. Rinse thoroughly after use — even if the formula is safe, all soap must be removed before food contact.
It is particularly effective on grease and stubborn food residues. Rubbing a sponge on the soap bar generates a concentrated foam that degreases without chemical residue.
Is solid household soap compatible with all surfaces?
Solid household soap is suitable for most hard surfaces: stainless steel, glass, ceramic, plastic, enamel. A few precautions:
- Delicate surfaces (aluminum, copper): test on a small area — alkaline soaps can tarnish these metals
- Untreated wood: use diluted and do not leave in prolonged contact with water
- Non-stick surfaces: use with a soft sponge, never an abrasive side
